3/8" Pea Gravel
Pea gravel is small, smooth, rounded stone in soft mixed tones. The rounded shape is easy on bare feet and paws, which makes it a favorite for play areas and dog runs — but it also means it never locks up, so it needs a hard edge.
What it is used for
- Dog runs and pet potty areas
- Play areas and casual seating spots
- Drainage around downspouts and A/C pads
- Decorative bed cover in shady side yards
Depth & coverage
Recommended depth
2 to 3 inches over fabric.
Coverage
One cubic yard covers about 160 square feet at 2 inches deep.
Installation tips
- 1Rounded stone rolls. Always edge pea gravel areas and keep them out of vehicle paths.
- 2For dog runs, lay fabric underneath so waste rinses through instead of sitting in mud.
- 3Rake it back level once or twice a season.
