3/8" Rainbow Gravel
Rainbow gravel is a small, multi-color washed gravel that mixes tan, rust, gray, and cream tones. At 3/8 inch it walks comfortably underfoot, so it works as both a decorative bed cover and a light-traffic path surface.
What it is used for
- Decorative bed cover in xeriscape designs
- Garden paths and side-yard walkways
- Borders around patios and pools
- Areas where mulch keeps washing away
Depth & coverage
Recommended depth
2 inches over fabric for beds; 3 inches for walking paths.
Coverage
One cubic yard covers about 160 square feet at 2 inches deep.
Installation tips
- 1Put down landscape fabric first or the gravel will disappear into the clay.
- 2Use steel or poly edging. Small gravel migrates without a hard edge.
- 3Rinse the surface once a year to bring the color back after pollen season.
